Project Updates
Lunch with the Governor and Annika Sorenstam
In 2007, co-owner and director of sales and marketing Dave Marriner and Dolphin Cove investor Annika Sörenstam met at The Ritz-Carlton to present the project to Governor John deJongh.
Sales Office Open
We are so excited to announce the opening of our Sales Office and the release of phase one for reservations. We received four reservations in the first week. Thanks to the innovative sense of style and persistence of our management team and consultants, the office is truly a showpiece. Theattention to detail is apparent in everything including the exquisite workmanship of the mahogany cabinetry and topo display, the exotic and ecological bamboo flooring, the expanded ocean views from the windows, and even a lovely deck to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean sunsets.
Beach Reconstruction Approved
Once again tenacity paid off. It was said it couldn't be done, but at the request of Dave Marriner and the management team, Bill McComb, the project's civil engineer, secured an approval for beach reconstruction. Two feet of dirt and debris were removed and hauled off. As suspected, sand was exposed. More white sand will be brought in to finish the beach. Ten palms trees have already been planted to complete the picture-perfect beach scene that we all dream about. Hammocks will be available!
Wyland's Bronze Dolphins
Wyland designed entry monument to be placed at Dolphin CoveDolphin Cove is privileged to have the opportunity to purchase one of Wyland's first bronze dolphin sculptures. This nine-foot piece was sculpted in Wyland's first studio in Laguna Beach, California. The sculpture is named Synchronicity and is of three dolphins in a synchronized jump. This is a collector's treasure. It will be set as the focal point in the fountain at the entrance to the Dolphin Cove property. When Wyland heard the story of the Dolphin House and our attempt to preserve its history, he agreed that Dolphin Cove was the best home for this rare piece. Truly a perfect match!
Meet New Team Members
We are proud to announce two new members to our team at Dolphin Cove.
Brenda Lecocq has joined Dolphin Cove as our Sales Associate. Prior to joining the Dolphin Cove team, she was a Membership Executive at the exclusive Ritz-Carlton Club, St. Thomas. Before realizing her long-time dream of living in St. Thomas, she was a Major Account Executive with Pearson, PLC for over 10 years in their software division. Brenda met Dave and Nancy Marriner and followed the progress of the Dolphin Cove project for two and one-half years. Once she actually saw the property and understood the project, she embraced the dream of Dolphin Cove.
Brenda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Administration.
Matthew McCormack brings to Dolphin Cove Management over 24 years of experience living and working in St. Thomas. He has interfaced with all levels of the Government of the Virgin Islands, as well as local vendors and suppliers.
His four year tenure at the Ritz Carlton Hotel allowed him access to the world of high-net worth individuals. It also provided him with the exposure and training of the Five Star level of service we are providing our owners at Dolphin Cove.
Matthew earned a Master's Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Both Brenda and Matthew bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and a commitment to customer service. We are so happy to have them on our team.

Project Approval Recap
On August 28, 2007 staff and commissioners for the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Commission unanimously voted for the approval of Dolphin Cove Development, LLC's major CZM permit application.
All waterfront development in the US Virgin Islands must acquire a CZM permit before applying for a building permit. Many CZM applications (possibly a majority of them) have been denied in the recent past. Therefore, a unanimous decision by CZM staff and commissioners speaks volumes about the quality of our application.
Many thanks to our participating managing members Duane Deverill, who helped throughout the approval process; Richard Puzzitello, who located this pristine property; and Dave Marriner, who worked diligently with our consultants for this success. Consultants included Bill McComb (environmental engineer), JZMK Partners (design architects), Robert & Donna deJongh (project architects), Lifescapes International (landscape architects), Dr. Tolson, Dr. Nellis and Lou Flori of the Dudley, Clark & Chan law firm (Tree Boa Habitat survey protocol), Dr. Gary Ray (VI Tree Boa Habitat survey), Dave Marriner (managing member) and Autumn Harrell (environmental lawyer) who engineered the settlement with VI Fish & Wildlife on the Tree Boa (federally protected endangered species) issue.
Our engineers have commenced work on the driveway permit application and the civil engineering for the infrastructure (roads, underground services, Reverse Osmosis plant, Waste Treatment plant, etc.). Our project architect has finalized recent revisions to the villa floor plans and is currently working on the construction drawings.
We are so excited about this limited opportunity to offer some of the only "whole ownership" oceanfront resort property in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Europeans are flocking to the U.S. territories due to the huge discount obtained with the strength of the EURO against the dollar. We expect to tap into this European market with advertising in the Robb Report and Rolls Royce Owners Annual Magazine.
We, as the Managing Members, want to thank you for your patience and support over the "long haul" process of getting this project approved. We are fortunate to be one of the only new communities of our quality, location and design that will be offered on St. Thomas in the near future.
It's time to change your latitude!
